Purpose of Acti Licoris

Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn. (Family: Fabaceae) is a traditional medicinal plant used in various ancient medicinal systems including Chinese, Indian, Egyptian and other cultures. The use of licorice root has been documented worldwide for its pharmacological properties to treat various ailments.

The root of this plant contains glycyrrhizin, the major water-soluble constituent that is 50 times sweeter than sugar, 2-β-glucuronosyl glucuronic acid, and isoliquiritigenin-4-glucoside.

Glycyrrhizin is one of the most widely used ingredients in herbal products for the treatment of chronic diseases. Studies of this plant have shown that licorice can provide certain health benefits:
