Cucurbita reduces dihydrotestosterone concentration in prostate cells but doesn’t stop its production. It is believed that this hormone is at the basis of the initial cellular prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement). 

Reducing its concentration it eliminates the risk of tumour formation in prostate and benign prostatic hyperplasia. By limiting the growth of the gland, the symptoms of prostatic discomfort, pain and difficulty urinating are reduced.
